Christmas 3D Nail Art

The other week I thought it was about time to make some fun nail art. So what I used to make this is acrylic liquid acrylic power and a mold.

heres all the things I used to make the nail art.

I cleaned out the mold with the acrylic liquid

put a clear coat of nail polish on

start by dipping the brush into the acrylic liquid

then into the acrylicpower

then you add it into the mold

then you put the mold on your nail

then time to make the scarf

add that on

makeing a green scarf and a little tree

the snowmen and tree on

time to add the eyes

adding little dot on the tree

add some fun crystals and your done. :)

So I have found that my little tea necklaces are a big hit! So I thought it was about time to come up with a winter collection.. kinda of like a spin off of original and my fall collection: Tea necklace

How to make a christmas yeti

Come and make a cute little Christmas yeti for your Christmas tree.

What you will need:
*white paper
*scissors
*markers
*glue or tape

First draw out a shape and cut it out

then make the mouth chest and eyes

Colour in the shapes

tape or glue on the body parts

time to glue on the hair/ fur

so how you do this is cut long strips of paper and pull it along the scissors

glue it all on how you would like it, and your done time to put it in your tree

West Elm + Etsy Handmade Holiday Workshop

Last night some girls and myself from the Toronto Etsy Street Team helped teach people how to make handmade ornaments at the West Elm. We made due since our package with all the paper and goodies didn't come in, so some of the girls went out ahead of time and got paper and what they could just so that we could keep the event going. Go Team! Thank you to everyone that came out! It was a lot of fun. In the last picture you can see all the decorations we made hanging from teh tree behind us

I do a workout from this video 3 times a week and I can really see that its working! If you want to dance and have fun while working out this is the video for you! I also really love the main singer from the Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger she just left not too long ago to start her own solo career, the last video is one of her new songs. Enjoy!!

French Macarons Day

So on the weekend I really felt like making french macarons.... they all tasted soo good but the turned out flat... maybe I need to blend everything longer... going to try making them closer to x mas one more time lets hope they turn out the way they should. The other thing about making macarons is that they really take a long time to do, so you really need a lot of time to work on them.

So I reviewed this salon effects for your nails. With step by step photos.

This is all the items you get in the little box.

First you need to push your cuticles back.

then shape your nail.

give nails one last swipe of nail polish remover

find the
best fitting strip for your nails.. I found non of them fit me will so I had to cut all of them to fit

place strip on nail and smooth with other end of the file

pull the escess nail sticker off

I added clear nail polish for extra hold

and your done!

I love love loved the look at the end but the hard part was finding strips that fit your nail. I also found because of this it took me about an hour to do this... so they make it seem like its so easy no dry time peel and apply but I think this took longer in the end.

I give these polish strips 8.0 out of 10.

Hi everyone here is a new interview with Leslie Levings, I really look up to her and her work. She is the owner of Beastlies I hope you fall in love with her work as much as I have!

I must ask, what inspires your designs?
--I love creatures, real and imaginary. Everything from animation to a trip to the aquarium makes me want to sculpt something new.

What ‘look’ are you going for with these your Beastlies?
--They just sort of evolved into this look on their own, really... I used to sculpt things like dogs, birds, and rabbits, but gradually my work started morphing into these little monsters. I'm always just trying to achieve some kind of spark in their expression, something that makes them funny or sweet or sympathetic or absurd or relatable.

Do you have any tips for new Etsy sellers?  
--Keep listing things! Don't let your shop just sit, even if sales are slow. And keep honing your craft every day: Even if you're amazing now, you'll be twice as amazing in a year if you've practiced your art constantly.

Other than your Etsy shop is there anywhere else where readers can find out more about Beastlies?

How did you become interested in creating such a unique craft?  
--I used to sculpt little animals and characters when I was a kid. Sculpey is so great for making your own toys, you know? I went to art school and studied other things, but nothing has ever been as fun as sculpting little critters, so that's what I came back to.

Other than your shop, do you have another occupation or a ‘day job’? If so, what is it? Do you have a background in sculpting or art school?   
--I studied photography and writing in school, so no actual sculpting background. I quit the day job about a year ago, and now I'm just focusing on the Beastlies.

Anything you want to share about any up and coming plans?
--I've got some things in the works that I hope I'll be able to share very soon! Stay tuned...

On sat. I went to a little restaurant on Roncesvalles. I went for a Toronto Etsy Street Team meet. There was only Emma my friend that I meat last year at a craft show and myself. We enjoyed having tea and the atomiser of Cardinal Rule. What I really like about there menu is that they have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes. My mom and I went to the Lindt store this past weekend because they had a crazy sale going on and to pick out the little wedding gifts everyone gets on there plate when they come.

I picked the little box with the light pink ribbon for the gift box.

So I finally got around to Payless and picked up 2 pairs of shoes! From the line BRASH since they have buy one get one half off! I love the shoes and there so comfortable too. One thing I don't enjoy about Payless is that the shoes are a lot less on the US website, the Canadian dollar isn't that much less then the US! For the platform pump its $34.99 on the website and its $49.99 in the stores. In the end I did the math and with the by one get one you end up paying about the same. I say always wait for sales :P So have you got any new shoes that you love? Or ones that you want to buy soon?

Wedding Planning Time

So my boyfriend and I have really been talking about getting married next summer/ fall. So I've been having fun putting a little Treasury for what I'm thinking about for the wedding. I've also been in love with these shoes from playless. We are trying to keep the wedding as small and as inexpensive as possible. We are going to ask my aunt and uncle if we can use there backyard for the wedding/reception. I also can't pick which wedding dress HELP! Let me know which one you like: Dress 1, Dress 2, Dress 3.

50's Style Cupcake Dress

My first dress

So I orded all this fabric a while ago, and just got in my patterns and zippers so it was time to work on a dress!

The pink one was the one I was makeing!

So heres my first dress that I've made on my own! Some parts didn't turn out so well but its ok I think it looks pretty good for my first try. Whats not to love! A coffee dress!

I saw cupcake nails on a blog I follow so I just had to do my own :) here's an easy tutorial to do it yourself.

1.) Put on a base coat, I find putting a light colour works the best.

2.) Pick a colours for the cupcake papers, bring the colour to about half-way on your nail.

3.) Now add the little lines for the papers.

4.) Icing time! Make sure you come far enough to overlap the paper.

5.) Sprinkles! Add little dots on the icing.

6.) I added little flower stickers just to add a little something else. Enjoy!

I had a lot of fun! I'm going to help next year too. The volunteers had started making the outfits back in Feb. we didn't get it all done till mid July its a lot of work but so woth it to see it all done!

Parkdale Bazaar

Hi everyone! I hope your all trying to keep cool this summer. I just wanted to say think you to everyone that made the Parkdale Bazaar a success! NEW Collections

So I made some new collections that I just had to post up right away! You see I just couldn't help myself! So Fisrt off with my collections are ice cream earrings (S)and (M) sizeing. Next I made ice cream ring collections and at the end of it all I made tea and donut earring collections! Which I am in love with! I think they turned out really well, on top of that I had to make a set for me. I love blue so I made the blueberry donut and rapsberry tea for me! For my first post for the Thirty Days Project I made a gooey cookie called double choc cookies. I made a small size which is about 1.0 cm (the cookies sitting in the flower print plate) and 1.5 cm (Cookiees sitting in the back) all scented in chocolate! Stay tooned to see what I make tomorrow and soon what these cookies will be part of on day 3 :)

I made Cherry tomato sauce with cheat's fresh pasta from Jamie Oliver's food revolution cookbook. I would make this recipe again! This was so easy to make, didn't take any time at all, and didn't cost very much at all!

Lobster Newburg

The lobster was really good, but when you buy two full lobsters from the store (that are already cooked) I still feel bad taking out all the meat. I think its the little eyes looking up at you that gets me. Also it takes a really long time to get out the meat and in the end it really isn't that much that your getting. I was still happy the dinner turned out really good!
